Helen Arkell Dyslexia Centre support for parents

Parents are the best resource for any child. Teachers and other professionals can offer valuable support to a dyslexic child but experience shows that it is help from home that can make a major impact.

Our consultations

  • offer the opportunity to seek solutions to problems and find ways forward
  • suggest best ways of communicating with schools

Our courses help

  • clarify the nature of specific learning difficulties
  • increase parents’ skills in supporting their own children
  • how best to approach and talk to schools
  • parents are welcome to enrol on the NOCN Teaching Assistants’ Course

Open Days

  • we offer annual Open Days where parents can visit and speak to one of our team of professionals
