Dyslexia Support for Children

Children of all ages and all learning capabilities develop at a different pace and that’s one of the joys of watching children develop and grow. But for those young people who are affected by dyslexia, it can be a confusing and unsettling time for their young minds.

The Helen Arkell Dyslexia Centre focuses attention on prompt identification of dyslexia, which helps relieve possible associated stress for the child, parents and siblings that may have been experienced prior to diagnosis.

Providing dyslexia support for children is at the heart of what we do. As a charity, we are a not-for-profit organisation, which means our priority is the wellbeing of your child. We can identify dyslexia using a series of straightforward tests and provide information on coping strategies to meet their individual challenges.

Our highly effective teaching programmes are delivered by specialist teachers who develop programmes to meet the needs of each individual pupil based on their own assessment results.

Dyslexia in children should by no means be treated as a disadvantage and the majority learn to positively adopt the symptoms of dyslexia in their teen and adult life. We want to encourage all children to have confidence in dealing with their condition and to realise their full learning potential through school and into the working world.
