Dyslexia Assessments Online

Dyslexia is a processing problem with language, affecting different kinds of language such as reading, writing, maths, music, speech; and it can affect different people in different ways. Dyslexia is a very common condition, and affects as many as one in every eight people.

If identified in the early stages, most dyslexics are able to learn to cope well, and are at no real disadvantage in life. At the Helen Arkell Dyslexia Centre in Surrey their sole aim is to support dyslexics through education, they believe in not just helping the individuals, but also by providing professionals and supporters the skills and knowledge to provide the necessary support.

Every dyslexic is an individual with individual challenges, and dyslexia can manifest itself in many different ways in both children and adults. Because of this the centre which is based in the South of England offer a diverse range of different assessments aimed at identifying people with different types of dyslexia. The full list is available through their website - www.arkellcentre.org.uk.

Of course if you're not sure which assessment may be most appropriate please contact the centre on 01252 792 400. With all dyslexia assessments arranged through the centre, time is allowed at both the beginning and end of the assessment for discussion with the client, or the parents in the case of children. Reports for Helen Arkell specialist assessments are sent within 3 weeks. Where the assessment is carried out by an Educational Psychologist (EP), the EP will advise you of the delivery date for the report.
